  29. I regularly get 10k/sec when downloading text files, from both a BBS
  30. and ftp'ing over a PPP link.  These are general text files, generally
  31. modem manuals and the like.  It may not be 4:1 but it's pretty damn
  32. close and I have averaged over 11k/sec on test files.
